Post subject:  PDF Permissions: Minimal set of operations?

Hi there.

I've been trying to take existing PDF files and set the permissions on them to disallow printing, copying etc.
The only way i've been able to get the library to save those permissions to the PDF is if i set the OwnerPassword and Encryption parameters of SecuritySettings.

Is there a way to save those permissions without a password? The protected documents are public and are going to be wide spread across users, So i wouldn't want some arbitrary password embedded in the file, if possible.

Perhaps this is even a PDF specification requirement im not aware of, but it would be nice to understand this issue.

Thanks.

AFAIK you can't do it without password.

Create a new GUID as a password, save the file, forget the password - that's all.
