Are you using an old version of PDFsharp?

AFAIK this was fixed several months ago ...

That helps me a lot!

MigraDoc uses PDFsharp and that error message comes from PDFsharp.
We fixed this after PDFsharp 1.0 was released.

Look here if you want to fix your current version or download PDFsharp 1.2 (current MigraDoc is also included).

If it doesn't work with PDFsharp 1.2 then we'll need the image file to fix the problem.

This assertion is still there in 1.2.1269.beta

I'm using XpsConverter, (wich is great)

XImage.cs line 289
pixelFormat = "Gray8" wich was originally .bmp saved with Paint.Net

Then Exeption

{"Image format not supported."}

at PdfSharp.Xps.XpsConverter.Convert(String xpsFilename, String pdfFilename, Int32 docIndex) in C:\Travail\Tests\PDFSharp-1.2.1269.beta+MigraDocLite-1.2.2546\PDFsharp\code\PdfSharp.Xps\PdfSharp.Xps\XpsConverter.cs:line 201
at PdfSharp.Xps.XpsConverter.Convert(String xpsFilename) in C:\Travail\Tests\PDFSharp-1.2.1269.beta+MigraDocLite-1.2.2546\PDFsharp\code\PdfSharp.Xps\PdfSharp.Xps\XpsConverter.cs:line 162
